Q: Who are we?

A: We are a group of young people who are currently studying, working of taking a gap year who are also committed to our voluntary work. Many of us spend a year of voluntary work in Ghana. This is how most of us had met before we have launched this project.

Q: What is our idea?

A: We plan on shipping unused, unwanted and expired first-aid material from Germany to Ghana. This material shall be subsequently used for education purposes in the context of first-aid courses that are free of charge for participants. This, in turn, contributes to waste reduction in Germany.

Q: Who is responsible for the conduction of first-aid courses in Ghana?

A:  First-aid courses in Ghana are conducted by the Ghana Red Cross Society. Over the course of the past year, we were able to develop and maintain close ties with them which allows us to benefit from their already existing, well-developed educational structures which is still missing exercise and education material though.

Q: What is the easiest way to donate?

A: As a private individual, you can easily access one of our many collection points which can be found and located using our online search tool. Simply drop you expired first-aid kit off and we’ll take care of the rest.

Q: Is it possible for my workshop / business / shop to take part in the collection of kits?

A: Yes, it is. Should you consider installing a collection point for us, please contact us. Simply send us a mail to info@verbandskasten-spenden.de and we’ll be in touch soon.

Q: Does my first-aid kit need to be complete?

A: Of course not! First-aid material that is unused and still boxed can be used and dropped off at our collection points.

Q: Is this project limited to Ghana?

A: It is for now. We benefit from already existing structures and contacts in Ghana which make it the ideal base to kick-start our project. Our medium- to long-term plan includes an expansion into further African countries. We are already talking to potential partners in order to make this vision reality.

Q: How can I stay up-to-date as to #VK2.0?

A: We have several social media accounts including facebook, twitter and instagram. You can follow us on these platforms to receive the latest news regarding the current state of our project. You can visit our website to stay well-informed and up-to-date.
